Fares review with new local app tickets

Fare review and new zonal app tickets 

From Sunday 06 April, we will be implementing a fares review across our Borders Buses network. This adjustment is necessary to address the increasing operational and where possible we have reduced pricing by introducing trial local mobile appl tickets. The details are: 

• Fare review: A 10% average increase will take effect on Sunday, 06 April 2025. 

• New discounted local zonal app tickets: These will provide up to 20% savings on local journeys and includes unlimited travel with new  Day, Weekly, three and five day bundles.

• Ticket zones: New local app tickets will be available for East Lothian, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Eyemouth, Duns, Selkirk, Peebles, Galashiels, and Hawick. 

• Northumberland Day Rover & TNE Day Saver: These tickets will also increase from 01 April and now include cross border services in the English operating area only. 

Zonal app discounted tickets: 

• Berwick Town: All services within Berwick-upon-Tweed town boundaries within the A1 (32, 60, 67, 235, 253, 266, 267, 464, 477, B1). 

• Galashiels Town: All services between Bristol Terrace, Wood Street, Langlee, and Kingsknowes (51, 54, 60, 67, 68, 70, 73, 74, 313, 314, G01, X62, X95). 

• Hawick Town: All services within Hawick town boundaries (H1, H2, H3, X95). 

• Galashiels/Melrose/Selkirk: Valid between Clovenfords, Bristol Terrace, Melrose, and Selkirk (51, 54, 60, 67, 68, 70, 73, 74, 313, 314, G01, X62, X95). 

• Peebles/Cardrona/Eddleston: Valid from Peebles town boundary to Cardrona and Eddleston (90A/B, P03, P06, P12, X62). 

• Berwick to Eyemouth/Duns: Valid between Berwick-upon-Tweed, Eyemouth, and Duns (32, 60, 67, 235, 253, 266, 267, 464, 477, B1). 

• East Lothian/Edinburgh: Single Ticket valid on 253 only. Day Ticket valid from Dunbar to Edinburgh and within the Edinburgh city boundary (51, 253, X62, X95).

Please note: Our local zone tickets are introduced on a trial basis with the aim of launching permanent local  mobile app tickets from Sunday 29 June 2025.
